CryptoPriceRanks

How we collect and verify fee data

Every fee on CryptoPriceRanks is taken from the exchange's own published fee schedule — not from aggregators, not from user reports.

How it works

Our fee database records every change rather than overwriting it, so the full history of what we published is always visible and verifiable.

What we do not do

Update frequency

Withdrawal fees are checked automatically every 6 hours on the exchanges that publish them through a public endpoint — currently KuCoin, Bitget and HTX. Those checks read the exchange's own API, pin the specific network the fee applies to, and write any difference straight into the change log.

Everything else is reviewed by hand on a weekly cycle: all trading fees, and every fee on the exchanges that publish no public fee endpoint (Binance, Bybit, OKX, Kraken, Coinbase, MEXC and Gate.io — each of these requires a signed API key to read fees, or does not expose them at all). An automated run never refreshes the "last verified" date on a figure it could not actually read, so a date on this site always means something checked that number.

Every change is logged — figures are never silently overwritten. Currently tracking 10 exchanges.

Trust score methodology

Trust scores (1–10) are a weighted composite, not an opinion poll:

ComponentWeightWhat it measures
Regulatory status25%Licences held and enforcement actions outstanding.
Proof of reserves25%Whether reserves are attested, how recently, and by whom.
Security track record20%Past incidents, how they were handled, and whether users were made whole.
Operational history20%Years in continuous operation without loss of customer funds.
User fund insurance10%Whether customer balances are covered, and up to what limit.

Scores are our own assessment and are reviewed quarterly. Referral commission is not an input: whether we have an affiliate arrangement with an exchange has no effect on its score, its position in a table, or which side of a comparison wins a row.
